I know, I know. I was going to save the socks for the commute and work on other projects at home. Well, it’s a knitter’s prerogative to change her mind. I was bored with the same old socks. And Clapotis needed to see the big city.

Oh, and can someone please tell me, what is the correct pronunciation for this darn thing? I thought I read somewhere that it’s French, pronounced clah-POH-tee. I’ve been calling it my “lavender scarf/shawl” when I actually speak of it, for fear of sounding like an ugly American.

You've got it! That's the way Kate Gilbert wants you to pronounce it. I read that she hates hearing people call it "clappy", "the clap" and "clap-o-tiss". I think I would too.
