This is not how to knit socks with two circular needles. See the needle on the left? Completely empty. Somehow, the needle on the right is now holding all the stitches of the heel, left and right gusset, and the instep. This is what happens when you are sleepy on the train. Reminds me of that famous M.C. Escher print.
