Online Yarn Stores

Here's a list of some favorite online yarn stores, of mine and fellow bloggers. I'll add to it going forward. Feel free to leave a comment and share your thoughts on these or any others.
  • Bartlett Yarns - Great, honest, New England wool yarns (sport and worsted).
  • Herrschners - Sign up for the free e-mail alerts. They have great yarn specials every week, sometimes you can find terrific bargains, up to 40% off.
  • Halcyon Yarns - Good selection of "traditional" yarns, along with plenty of supplies for other fiber arts; spinning, rug hooking, tatting, etc.
  • KnitPicks - Great deals on 100% wool, and wool blend yarns. Almost half the price of comparable brands.
  • The Knitting Garden - I haven't ordered from them yet, but I hear that their customer service is top-notch.
  • Patternworks - Yarn, books, tools, needles, patterns, gifts, you name it, it's here. And be sure to request a free catalog. It's a treat to read and the pictures are fantastic.
  • Purlsoho - a very well-organized site. Very easy to find the book, yarns, patterns you need, quickly.
  • Webs - America's Yarn Store! Knitting and spinning supplies galore. And I hear the warehouse is amazing. Some day, hopefully, I will see it in person.
  • Woodland Woolworks - A great selection of sock yarns, including Opal and Fortissima.

Lisa, I also love Halcyon Yarn (you are close enough for a summer visit to Bath, ME!) and Woodland Woolworks. Both are lovely to deal with. You can also order great, honest, New England wool yarns (sport and worsted) from Bartlett Yarns. While all these have websites, I prefer to call and talk to real people!
