Blogging Inspiration Comes in All Shapes and Sizes

After achieving the admirable (for me) milestone of writing 200 posts to this blog, I promptly lost my blogging mojo and disappeared. For whatever reason, (life, work, busy, blah, blah, blah, no knitting, blah, blah, blah) I haven't written in months. After all that time, what could possibly inspire me to write again?

This could. This very disturbing picture that Jeff sent me last week.

My first reaction was Ewww!!! That is gross!! Maybe it's me, but Wally and his new friends, Lefty and Righty, seem strangely pornographic. (Even the names give me the creeps...) Jeff didn't understand my disgust , which made me worried that I was some kind of weirdo pervert.

But on on Sunday afternoon, sitting in the Fenway bleachers, soaking up the sun and watching all the pre-game activities, I spied Lefty and Righty running around the field. I pointed them out to Jeff. Before I could say anything more than "Look!", the Giants fan sitting to my left chimed in with "Wow, there is something strangely phallic about those two."

Thank you.

So, being the nutcase that I am, I did a little more research. Seems that Lefty and Righty are not new at all. A Red Sox Fan From Pinstripe Territory wrote about Righty's love for Adam Stern more than a year ago. (click the link and scroll down, the pic is priceless.)

Wally himself first introduced his "new" buddies on his blog in May 2006. On a side note, it seems that Wally has also lost his blogging mojo. He hasn't written a new post since September 1, 2006. He does have big hands, which could make typing difficult, so I'll cut him a break.

P.S. - I can only imagine the number weirdo perves who will now find this blog as a result of this post. It's great to be back!
