When I Grow Up....

Can you read what is says? This $10 gift is only the beginning. You'd better believe it.

I will be using this coupon promptly. Shoes and yarn are the two things that keep me sane and give me a break from THE JOB, where I do things like develop strategies and tactics, and write mission statements, value propositions, positioning statements. God help me. How did I turn into this person? What little girl says, "When I grow up I want to write value propositions"???

I do enjoy my work, but somedays (when it's 85 degrees out and the sunshine is beckoning) I wonder what the heck I'm doing and if it's really going to make a difference in the world. Wouldn't it be great if I could just knit socks, hang out with my husband, watch a baseball game, walk my dog, plant my garden, drink a little wine, and just breathe? All while wearing cute shoes, of course.

I know what you mean. I am a technical writer for a software co. It can get so mind-numbingly boring that the walls of my cubicle start closing in on me, but it IS writing! If I ever decide to make a career change, cubicles will not be involved.
